Ginger wine soda is a refreshingly cool, spicy, and sweet treat for the summer. This cocktail made from ginger wine can be ready in under a minute.

Summer, especially Indian summer is a time when you need cooling food, cold drinks, and ice creams to cool you down. One of our favourite go-to drinks in summer is made of ginger wine. If you’re wondering how to drink ginger wine when it’s so hot in summer, do what we do! We use my sister’s homemade ginger wine and turn it into a spritzer. And the alcohol content reduces too, so it does not affect your senses as much.

It’s very easy to make and is quite refreshing too! Lemonade and soda are the best ginger wine mixers. You can make a few variations of it too, like ginger and lemon soda or ginger mint soda, which are both equally delicious. You can even try this with our other red wines as well, like black currant wine and lemonade which is a popular drink in Spain called Tinto de verano.

What Ingredients Do You Need For Ginger Wine Soda?

To make ginger wine soda or ginger wine spritzer, all you need is a cool soda, some ginger wine, and a little fresh ginger to garnish. You can also add ice.

How To Make Ginger Wine Soda

In a tall glass, pour a chawni (30 or 45 ml) or a shot glass of ginger wine and add a large amount of cool or cold soda. You can also add ice to make it even cooler! Garnish with fine fresh ginger strips and your Ginger Wine Soda is ready, Cheers!

Variations of Ginger Wine Soda

  • If you add lime or lemon juice, you have a lemon and ginger wine soda or you could just add lemonade too.
  • Add fresh mint leaves for a ginger wine mint soda.
  • Add ice cubes for extra cooling.

By the way, this recipe is just for one glass, but it’s always better to multiply it by 4 or 5 times. Just make a whole pitcher instead!
